Populations are healthy in Alaska. What the Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks are doing: Recently, SeaWorld Orlando welcomed Mattie, a two-year-old American bald eagle, to their family. After falling out of her nest and breaking a wing, Mattie was rescued and rehabilitated by the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland, Florida. Due to the extent of her injuries, she was deemed unreleasable. The center asked SeaWorld Orlando to train and condition Mattie to serve as an ambassador for her species. Across the U.S., Anheuser-Busch has contributed significantly to the bald eagle's comeback. In Kodiak Island, Alaska, Anheuser-Busch helped protect more than 150,000 acres of habitat for American bald eagles and other species. At Barr Lake State Park in Denver, CO, Anheuser-Busch and its Fort Collins brewery helped construct a bald eagle observation deck and interactive displays to educate and inspire visitors. And for several years, Anheuser-Busch has been the premier sponsor of Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey's Golf Tournament, at event that raises funds for the protection of bald eagles and peregrine falcons that fly and nest along the Delaware Bay. |
