| Budweiser Conservation Scholarship Program |
Budweiser Conservation Scholarship ProgramAnheuser-Busch and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation announced the winners of the third annual Budweiser Conservation Scholarship Program, a competition to support and promote innovative research or academic study that responds to significant challenges in fish, wildlife and plant conservation in the United States. More than 330 applications were received representing 135 different colleges and universities in 45 states. The selection committee was composed of representatives from American Fisheries Society, Anheuser-Busch Companies, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Wildlife Federation, Society for Conservation Biology, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geologic Survey, and The Wildlife Society. Anheuser-Busch's Environ-mental Outreach Group brought the company's speakers
program to two Chicago schools last school year. With the help of Hometown
Distributing, an Anheuser-Busch Wholesaler, the Wild Careers! Working
With Animals program was first presented to a group of seventh- and
eighth-graders and then to an audience of fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders.
Toby Swaford, an education specialist for SeaWorld in Orlando, shared his
experiences working with animals and provided information about the diversity
of animal and wildlife careers available. |
