Brachiation - In some arboreal primates, a form of locomotion in which the animal swings hand over hand from branch to branch. In primate species in which brachiation is fully developed, a primate can move through the trees faster than a human can walk on the ground.
In this issue's Species Spotlight, orangutans are an example of a primate that uses brachiation as their main form of locomotion.
